FG / NDLEA To Employ 10,000 Drug Law Enforcement Officers In 2017 –

 I have my reasons to believe that many persons must have received info about the Recruitment exercise that will be coming up shortly by the Federal govt which talks about the possible recruitment of about 10,ooo staffs for the Nigeria Drug law enforcement Officers.

Well regarding the information on that, the Minister of Justice and the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has confirmed that the federal government has approved the recruitment of about 5000 staff in the National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA), in addition to 10,000 in 2017 that will be employed.

He made this known at the ECOWAS ministers meeting which are usually held periodically. According to him, the Federal Govt of Nigeria have designed and developed various plans which will surely aim at improving the capacity of the law enforcement agency to fighting the increasing crime rate across the region.

 During the ECOWAS meeting, Mr Malami urged all member countries’ ministers to also look for good means to adopt a new ECOWAS Regional Drug Action Plan which will focus its activities for the year 2016 through 2020. This will help provide a roadmap and a viable working document for the drug control team of ECOWAS he concluded.

 ECOWAS director in charge of Drug Control Mr Sintiki Ugbe also went ahead to Commended Nigeria’s effort and strong desire which it has put together to tackle the incessant drug trafficking at the national level. He went ahead to give the Nation federal govt a thumps up for the political commitment it has shown by approving the recruitment of workers whose sole aim is to widen the NDLEA capacity and further develop and design a national drug control master plan.

According to Mr Sintiki Ugbe’s “We see and applaud that kind of political commitment in the region. We also want to see the translation of political commitment into real actions”
